Q. Do you offer tastings? How many people can I bring with me?

Yes, we offer a complimentary tasting and consultation for you and a guest. Our space can accommodate a total of four guests. Arrangements must be made in advance for more than two so we are sure to have enough cake for you.

Q. How long do tastings usually last?

Tastings usually last for about an hour, which has proven to be ample time to both design and taste our cakes. Since appointments are scheduled before and after yours so please plan to be on time so you have a full hour. Since a lot of work goes into each tasting please call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule.

Q. What do I need to bring to our appointment?

We request that you have your venue, flowers and colors set for your wedding. If not then no worries, we can always come up with a design and add colors once you have those details set. Also if there are any pictures of cakes that you like please bring those with you and we can design a unique custom made cake to fit perfectly in your wedding.

Q. What Can I Expect To Pay For A Wedding Cake? Do you have a price list?

Pricing starts at $5 per serving for a plain iced cake. Our pricing tends to average from $5-$10 per serving. Ultimately the price is based on the complexity of design and the number of people being served. Sheet cakes are available to supplement larger parties and are priced at $2.50 per serving. Sheet cakes are all 4 layers high with 3 layers of filling, so your guests never know that they are not being served from the actual wedding cake. Before you arrive for your consultation, it is helpful to have a budget in mind for what you would like to spend on your cake. This will give us a better sense of what we can design for you.

Q. What is your delivery area? What do you charge for delivery?

Our delivery area ranges from Washington DC to Baltimore. We are willing to travel anywhere our cakes can safely be delivered so please contact us to inquire about a specific location. Our delivery and set up fee in the DC area is $50.

Q. Do you ship your cakes?

No, we do not ship our cakes at this time.

Q. Do I have to make a deposit to reserve my wedding date? If so, how much is it and can I get a refund, if we cancel the date?

Yes a 50 percent deposit is required to reserve your wedding date on our calendar. Your deposit is based on the total estimated amount at the time of the deposit. We ask that you be absolutely certain that you would like to work with us, as all deposits are date specific and non-refundable.

Q. I am not ready to make design decisions yet but I want to reserve our date so you don’t get booked up, is that possible?

Yes. You may reserve your date with a $300 deposit. Final arrangements just need to be made at least 6 weeks prior to your event. All deposits are non-refundable.

Q. How far in advance should I order a cake?

For Wedding Cakes we require from 6 months to a year as we take a limited amount of cakes every week and book up quickly. For Specialty cakes and Birthday cakes a 2 week to one month notice is required.

Q. Do you make individual cakes, cupcakes and decorated cookies?

Yes. We do custom designed cupcakes at $2.50 per person and $3 with filling. Individual cakes start at $12 each for one tier. We currently don’t make any cookies.

Q. I want fresh flowers on my cake, how can that be arranged?

We arrange with your florist to have the flowers on the cake table at the reception site. We will place the flowers on the cake once it is on the cake table.

Q. Are your cakes made from scratch?

YES our cakes are always fresh and never frozen! We use only the best ingredients, Vahlrona chocolate, pure European butter, and fresh fruit. Even our caramel is homemade!

Q. How tall are your cakes?

Our cakes are 4 and a half to 5 inches high. All of our cakes are 4 layers of cake with 3 layers of buttercream.
